This Monday, Jan 31, CBS "Channel 2 News@ 5", will feature my ladies, the Grace Senior Dancers Without Borders! Here's the press release we sent out:

Amy Stone, a seven-time Emmy award winner, will report on the Grace Senior Dancers Without Borders, this Monday. January 31, 2005, on New York's CBS "Channel 2 News at Five". The performance and interview segment was produced this past Friday, January 28th at Grace Van Vorst Church in Jersey City.

The Grace Senior Dancers Without Borders, are a Middle Eastern Bellydance troupe of senior women in the Jersey City local area. The dance troupe, led by Kathleen Ferguson (Basmah), who is director, choreographer and teacher, rehearses weekly at the Grace Van Vorst Churchin Jersey City where the seniors are members of the Grace Senior Center for Healthy Living.

CapezioDance.com featured the dance troupe as their selected Amateur Team in the October 2004 Newsletter. Previously, the Jersey Journal had covered their weekly dance classes in a column, "Just Josie", written by Josie Syzman and published as Middle Eastern Style on August 4, 2004.

Grace Senior Dancers Without Borders perform at parties, special events, festivals, clubs, galleries, Senior Centers, hospitals, nursing homes and other venues .They combine Middle Eastern folkloric music and dance, from such countries as Egypt, India, Turkey, Greece and others. Their weekly class rehearsals also focus on Middle Eastern culture, including dance styles, costumes, music, history and foods.
