Dear Park Service:

I can't believe that the CNJ is being presented as some great symbol of "NEW JERSEY" history to be revered, when in fact it was taxed to death, forced to continue uprofitable routes by the ICC, and left to die by the state of New Jersey. The polictians really had a field day with that railroad. The saddest part of the road was that is was largely a family business with strong generational employment. I rode the Jersey Central, I walked over the main line every day. Railroad policy in the USA has always been lousy. People forget that people who worked on the railroads were ordinary hard working people and that, unlike politics, railroads make an honest dollar for a days work. No wonder they have trouble with politicians and lawyers.
