The last news I heard was the Jersey city firefighters found the tunnel flooded at the mid way point. I know the New York platform is extremly deep, but a basic point of physics is water finds its own level.
I know people had to survive down there. Yes the tunnel and maybe the platform may be flooded to the ceiling but if anyone remembers the stairs and escalators going down to the PATH platform are steep and very long, you can hardly see the bottom from the top. I know in my heart there on those steps and on the escalator are people waiting to be found.

I wish the Jersey City Fire department would try again. If the distance is too far for a diver with tanks then use a diver with a deep sea diving air hose or maybe someone can lend a remote controled submersible

: I saw a news report last night where the Jersey City Firefighters were trying to gain access to possible survivors at the Trade Center through the PATH tunnel. Have they considered contacting the Tunnel Workers Union for assistance. These are the people who build tunnels for a living and are experienced in manuvering in tunnels.
