'Tribute in Light'
The temporary memorial "Tribute in Light" is on display in lower Manhattan until April 13 from 6 to 11 pm each night. Two columns of light generated by 88 searchlights arranged in two 50-foot squares was turned on for the first time on the six-month mark of the attack.
"Tribute in Light" was a collaborative effort of five artists and architects--John Bennett, Gustavo Bonevardi, Richard Nash Gould, Julian LaVerdiere and Paul Myoda--working with lighting designer Paul Marantz.
