Ferry to Ground Zero

I hope you can help me with some information. I am planning to visit my
daughter in New Jersey soon and want to take my granddaughter to visit Ground
Zero. My daughter told me that we could ride the Liberty State Park Ferry
from New Jersey to New York City and get to Ground Zero by walking a few
blocks. I looked up the Liberty State Park Ferry on the internet and it
implies that the ferry goes only to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty, with
no mention of getting into the city using the Ferry.

Can you enlighten me as to the best way to travel from New Jersey to Ground
Zero?
