: Jersey City Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham presents U.S. Marine Master Gunnery Sgt. Garry C. McCullers, a Jersey City resident, with a proclamation for his service in Iraq.

: Master Gunnery Sergeant Garry C. McCullers. Has served 28 years in the United States Marines. Has served in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Marine Division from Camp Jejune in North Carolina to the Combined Arms Training Camp in Fuji, Japan. Master Gunnery Sgt. McCullers proudly defended his country in Operation Desert Storm/Shield in Kuwait in 1991. And recently returned from Kuwait where he served in Operation Iraqi Freedrom. He is currently assigned as Operation Chief for the Third Battalion 5th Marine Regiment at Camp Pendleton. During his service, Master Gunnery Sgt. McCullers has received numerous awards and medals which including a Navy Commendation Medal, a Navy Achievement Medal with two stars, a Combat Active Ribbon, a National Defense Services Medal with one star, a Two Tour of Duty Persian Gulf medal, a Sea Services Deployment Ribbon with ten stars, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, a Southwest Asia Services Medal, a Kuwait Liberation Medal, and an Overseas Service Ribbon. A native of Jersey City, Master Gunnery Sgt. McCullers attended PS #34 and Snyder High School.
