: Hi Everyone. : I'm driving into New York on Friday, February 6, and I need some parking advice. : I need to be in at an event by 11am in Midtown, and plan to be arriving in the city by 10am. Am I better off to drive into Manhattan and hope for a place to park, or should I park somewhere in Jersey City or something and take the PATH in? : Does anyone know how quickly the parking garage at Journal Square fills up or how much it costs to park there? For some reason $11 pops in my head, but I think I'm probably wrong. Will the garage be full by 10am? : If I were to park in Manhattan, where would you suggest and how much can I expect to pay for a full day? : Last time I drove into the city mid-morning on a Friday, I was really out of luck when it came to parking, and I can't afford to drive around like a moron this time. : Any advice or guidance would be hugely appreciated. : Best, Unless you need to transport something that's not practical to carry on a train or bus, it doesn't ever make sense to drive into Manhattan. I'll try to get specific information on the Journal Square PATH station parking lot. Keep in mind that there are a number of other parking lots in the immediate area of the Journal Square PATH station. I've never seen them all get filled to capacity. The drawback on the other lots is that most are not open at night. The lot at the PATH station is open 24 X 7. There are also a large number of lots on the Jersey City Waterfront that are close to the Exchange Place, Grove Street, and Newport PATH stations. For a list of some of them, please see the Link. As the Page is due to be updated, the fees listed very likely are not current.
