: I live at 155 washington street and inquired about a parking permit about a year ago and was denied. No one could give me a reason why. People have told me that it shouldn't be a problem because even people who work in jersey city are able to get permits. I would appreciate it if someone could fill me in on why I can not get a permit and is there anything that I could do to get a parking permit. : Sincerely, Did you apply for a parking permit or for permit parking on Christopher Columbus Drive? Permit parking is of limited availability? Parking permits are available to all residents and people working in a neighborhood. Resident permits require a nominal fee and proof or residence. If your vehicle is not registered to an address in the zone, you might be denied. There is a more substantial charge for non-resident permits and proof most be provided that you work in the area. If you've any questions, you can call the Parking Authority at 201-653-6969. If the Parking Authority is not able to provide resolution, then call the Mayor's Action Bureau at 201-547-4900.
