F. G. Otto and Sons were manufacturers of surgical instruments, not glass. They may have made some bottles, but that would have been on the side. Ferdinand G. Otto worked for George Tiemenn & Co after arriving in America from Germany in the late 1840s, but then went into business for himself, partnering with Augustus Koehler (1853-1860) and then John Reynders (1860-1875) before partnering with his sons Albert and Gustav beginning in 1875. They were in New York City until the 1880s, when they expanded operations by moving to Jersey City. In the 1890s they also began manufacturing music boxes. Ferdinand died in 1898, but Otto and Sons went on until at least 1914, when the youngest son, Edmund, died. I don't know what happened to the company after that. Does this answer your questions?
