Jersey City - Our Living Legacy |

I am interested in hearing from anybody who lived near or in the neighborhoods mentioned from 1946-1955. I lived in Jersey City during those years: first at 426 Palisades Avenue, then 30 Hopkins Avenue, and finally at 88 Van Waggonen Avenue. Does anybody know how these neighborhoods are today? Renovated? Gentrified or what? I used to play in a park near 426 Palisades; it was called "Henry Hudson Park", I believe, and had a statue of Hudson at the entrance. Is it still there? There was also a place called "Valhalla Hall" on Palisades Avenue where many wedding receptions took place. Is it still there? Hope to hear from anybody who lived in or near these neighborhoods during those years. Thanks.
