Hi, looking for any information on William Clarke, Mayor of Jersey City 1869-1870. In 1880 he was living in what was called the Clarke Mansion at 174 Grand Street. The Clarke Mansion is now called the Whitter House! I am also looking for any information on Father Edward Duffy who attended St. Peter's College, also on Grand Street. My grandfather, William Edward Clarke was orphanded and ended up in the care of Father Duffy. I believe the above William Clarke, the Mayor, was my grgrgrandfather for besides the connection with Father Duffy my grandmother, Margaret Dwyer, also lived on Grand Street in 1880. Margaret Dwyer married William Clarke jr., the son of the Mayor. William and Margaret may have had another son, Edward Clarke b: abt 1883. Thanks for any help, Jackie
