The best way to get to the Park is to leave your car home! Take the PATH to the Exchange Place
station. Upstairs, the Exchange Place Light Rail station is only one block south-west.
Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Park & Ride Locations
The Park/Ride at Liberty State Park will be closed on July 4, 2000 to all
automobile traffic during the OPSAIL 2000 event. Please note that at 12:01
a.m. on July 4, vehicles that are parked in the Park/Ride lot at Liberty State
Park Station will be towed by the Jersey City Police at the owner's expense.
Also on July 4, Turnpike Exit 14B and the ramp leading to the Park/Ride at
Liberty State Park will be closed.
HBLR riders can take advantage of free parking on July 4 at the Park/Ride lots
located at E. 34th Street and 45th Street stations in Bayonne and West Side
Avenue Station in Jersey City. Directions to these Park/Ride locations are
listed below.
E. 34th Street Park/Ride:
Avenue E in Bayonne to E. 32nd Street, east over bridge, left into temporary
Park/Ride lot.
E. 45th Street Park/Ride:
Avenue E in Bayonne to E. Center St., go east over bridge, right into E. 45th
St. Park/Ride.
West Side Avenue Park/Ride:
From Southern Hudson County - Route 440 North past Danforth Avenue. Go 3/4
mile, make right onto Claremont Avenue. Turn right into the West Side Avenue
Station Park/Ride.
From Newark - Truck Route 1&9 over Newark Bay Bridge to 440 South, make right
onto Culver Circle to cross Route 440, left on Mallory Avenue, right onto
Claremont and right into West Side Park/Ride.
NJ Transit strongly recommends that you park at one of
the lots listed above and take the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to the Liberty

Shuttle bus service to Liberty State Park will operate continuously between the hours of 8 am and 7 PM. Buses will leave Liberty State Park to return to the park-and-ride lots beginning at 8:30 AM. Buses will continue to leave throughout the duration of the event. The last bus leaving the park will be at 1:30 AM or until the park is empty. NJ TRANSIT personnel will be on hand for passenger assistance.

All ferries service will be suspended on July 4th, with the exception of the of the Staten Island Ferry.
