Tour 12
Junction with State 30–Flemington–Frenchtown – Frenchtown

FRENCHTOWN, 12.6 miles (130 alt., 704 pop.), is a polite little village crammed into a tiny space on the bank of the Delaware. A wooden sign at the outskirts of the town announces:

FRENCHTOWN
Speed Limit 20 miles per hour
THANK YOU

The KERR CHICKEN HATCHERY (not open), south end of Railroad Ave., has a daily output of 50,000 hatched chicks, which are shipped by parcel post or express. By means of mercury-vapor lamps the hens are induced to work long hours, resulting in more frequent sit-downs and increased production.

At 12.8 miles, on the Delaware River bridge, State 12 crosses the Pennsylvania State Line 0.3 miles east of Uhlerstown, Pa.
