Tour 6
South from the Northwest Corner – Bordentown

BORDENTOWN, 95.9 miles (65 alt., 4,400 pop.) (see BORDENTOWN).

Points of Interest: Bonaparte Park, Bordentown Military Institute, Hopkinson House, Clara Barton School, and others. House, Clara Barton School, and others.

At 96 miles US 130 (see Tour 19) branches (R) from US 206.

US 206 descends into a wooded ravine with scattered laurel bushes and rises over a long hill.

MANSFIELD SQUARE, 97.8 in. (70 alt.), is a few houses at the intersection of Old York Rd., an early stage route that joined the West Jersey capital, Burlington, with East Jersey and New York.

MANSFIELD, 99.6 miles (100 alt.), is identified by an old FRIENDS MEETING HOUSE (R), a red brick building of plain design, standing behind great trees. For several years a $10,000 gift has been used to provide lectures and other cultural activities here. Culture is made more palatable by an abundant supply of free ice cream and cake, and residents from miles around assemble for the monthly entertainments.
