: : The latest poll taken in the Jersey City Mayor’s race shows that Councilman Jerramiah Healy has surged ahead and is now in first place.

: : The poll by McLaughlin & Associates taken on October 10 and 11 found that Healy now has 25% of the vote, Lou Manzo has 22%, Harvey Smith has 13%, Willie Flood has 11%, and Steve Lipski has 2%.

: : Healy’s vote has almost doubled in the last month. A September poll by the same firm had him in third place with just 13%. “Councilman Healy’s campaign clearly has the momentum at this critical point in the campaign,” said Healy Campaign Media Consultant Anthony Amabile. “It’s quickly becoming a two man race and Lou Manzo is losing ground rapidly.”

All interviews were conducted by professional interviewers via telephone. Interview selection was at random within predetermined election units. These units were structured to statistically correlate with actual general election voter distributions in Jersey City. The accuracy of this sample of 300 likely general election voters is within +/- 5.6% at a 95% confidence interval.
