I certainly respect your point of view. And I am a fan of your website, btw. I have a somewhat different perspective, however.

First of all, plenty of individuals in Hudson County are fluent in English and Spanish. That's not exactly a rare talent.

Second, what value is there in his relationship with Joe Doria? Due to this "special friendship," he chose not to run a candidate in that district, and actually endorsed Doria! How is THAT good for Republicans?

Finally, let's not overstate the Bush vote in Hudson County. Yes, it did improve, but not nearly as much as it did statewide. And does Arango really deserve credit for the improvement that did occur? What did he really do, aside from his little "Democrats for Bush" gathering, that led one other GOP county chair to ask whether Jose himself was there as a "Democrat for Bush?"
