UNION COUNTY, NJ - U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez joined gubernatorial nominee Doug Forrester, Assembly Candidate Rich Valdes and Union City Freeholder Candidate Mirta Cairo in Linden yesterday evening to discuss the economy and job creation with Hispanic business owners.

"It's time to Take Back New Jersey from the rampant corruption and outrageous taxes that are hurting businesses as well as some of the most vulnerable residents of our state." said Forrester. Forrester continued "Jon Corzine cannot change the status quo in Trenton. I will."

"It's people like Doug Forrester, Rich Valdes and Mirta Cairo working with Secretary Gutierrez that will help us take back New Jersey and make New Jersey a better place for Hispanic businesses" said Jose Arango, Hudson County Republican Chairman.

Valdes, a former small business owner of a barber shop in West New York and 2 cellular phone stores on Bergenline Avenue understands first hand, how complex it can be to successfully run a business in New Jersey. Valdes made the following statement:

"All businesses face the regulatory challenges and the big-government nightmare that New Jersey offers it's merchants, and our government officials need to fully understand the challenges that Hispanic business owners face when doing business in the Garden State; making it more attractive and profitable for businesses to continue to invest in our state economy and make New Jersey their home".

Valdes Continued "In order to provide new jobs we need to establish healthy businesses that will grow and employ people from our community. This has not been happening enough in New Jersey that is why I am running for the State Assembly and the is why we need Doug Forrester. Doug Forrester is an experienced businessman that will put New Jersey businesses back on track!"

Rich Valdes is a twenty-seven-year old Puerto Rican Republican candidate for the State Assembly in District 33, which includes Guttenberg, Weehawken, Hoboken, West New York, Union City and parts of Ward C and Ward E in Jersey City.
