Steven Glazer and the Urban Times News

Extreme Journalism
Steven Glazer started his journalism career in 1971 in Washington DC with the Associated Press as a courier/librarian/copy boy while completing his BA in communications, attending Antioch College.

He later spent several years as a freelance writer and then became reporter for the Herald News in Passaic, NJ. Glazer left journalism for Wall Street where he became a registered rep, with Paine Webber, Prudential, and others, and later became an investment banker.

After more than 20 years doing deals “on the street” he returned to journalism and now writes for Urban Times News, of Jersey City, NJ since April 2002. He has lived in Jersey City since 1986. He is 54 and has two children, David, 13, and Julia, 16.

The Little Paper That Could
The Urban Times News is a minority-owned weekly paper distributed free in Hudson, Essex, and Passaic Counties. It is the only alternative outlet for news in its service areas, representing views of the underserved Black and Hispanic and other ethnic minorities. UTN is at the journalistic forefront of major stories in its coverage areas unreported by so-called mainstream media and of importance to the minority communities UTN serves.
