Jersey City Guide

Hello,

If you live on Bentley or Harrison Ave (between Kennedy and Bergen), and the back of your home or apartment faces Welsh Lane, then this is for you!

We are planning a clean up day of the Lane on Saturday, April 17th, at 11:30am. As you may have noticed, the City came in and recently removed a number of tires and old furniture that was there. This is a great start, but there is still broken glass and other messy bits and pieces lying around that make the Lane ugly.

Welsh Lane was once a beautiful cobblestone street where kids from all over the neighborhood used to play, under the watchful eye of their parents and neighbors. As we work to keep Welsh Lane clean, and make it nice again, our ultimate goal is to have the cobbles restored. After all, beautiful cobble streets enhance alleys in Brooklyn and Hoboken, so why shouldn't we be on par with those communities? We certainly deserve it.

If you are available, and would like to help or get more info, please respond to this posting. The more people we get, the faster it can get done. If we have at least 10 people, we should have the whole lane cleaned in about an hour.

So come out! Get some air, have some laughs, and maybe even make a new friend while you're at it!

Thanks!
