Saturday 17 April-10am
Residents of Bentley and Harrison Avenues with properties that abut Welsh Lane are encouraged to come out to help us clean up Welsh Lane. Please provide your own gloves, rakes and shovels. Garbage bags will be provided. Please contact David Casson at 25 Bentley or Daniel Pelosi at 170 Harrison for details.

Wednesday 14 April-6pm
An ordinance to approve the Boland Street Redevelopment Plan (BSRP) will have it’s First Reading at City Hall. During First Readings, the public does not get to speak on this. The current BSRP affects the old Police Station at the corner of Montgomery & Boland Streets as well as the old Police garage and Traffic Court Buildings on Boland Street (between Montgomery Street and Fairmont Avenue, the old Summit Bank at the corner of Fairmont and Bergen Avenues and the parking lot on Boland Street and Fairmont Avenue. The current BSRP allows for a developer to build market rate housing on the properties up to 6 stories tall, making them the tallest structures on their block. It does allow for the protection of the historic character of the old Police Station and the Bank building. Please contact David Casson at 25 Bentley or Charlene Burke at 56 Duncan Avenue if you would like a copy of the BSRP.

Monday 19 April-7pm
The West Bergen/Lincoln Park Neighborhood Coalition will hold it’s April meeting. City Clerk Robert Byrne will be our guest speaker. Come out and bring a neighbor to learn about the differences between an ordinance and a resolution and how to get on the speaker’s list.

Wednesday 21 April-7pm
The West District Police Commander’s Meeting will be held at Old Bergen Church (this is located on Bergen Avenue at the corner of Highland Avenue---2 blocks north of Montgomery Street in the large brown church across the street from the old Bergen Cemetary. Free parking is available in the rear of the church…enter from Highland---one way street that you can enter from the Boulevard. If you have any questions or issued about crime and safety, this is your chance to meet with PO Doris Howard, the Community Relations Officer as well as Captain Teschlog of the West District.

Wednesday 28 April-6pm
An ordinance to approve the Boland Street Redevelopment Plan (BSRP) will have it’s Second Reading at City Hall. During Second Readings, the public is encouraged to come speak out about this issue and either offer or withhold support of the ordinance and how this will affect/impact you or your neighborhood. Please do come out to this and show support for our neighborhood.

Saturday 1 May-10am
West Bergen/Lincoln Park Neighborhood Coalition sponsors it’s annual Community Clean-up Day. Please come out and make a real difference in our community. This is in preparation of our Lincoln Park Historic Homes & Gardens Tour that will take place on Sunday 23 May. Please bring your own gloves, rakes, shovels and garbage bags. We are working with the incinerator authority to provide us with multiple dumpsters for the area so we can deposit all the refuse after it has been collected.
