Hi Beck! Hope your Thanksgiving was great!!

I was at the BCU meeting and can tell you more about it if you like...nothing really new there. BCU is trying to come up with a community plan for the area between the Boulevard and Summit Avenues and from Glenwood to Communipaw Avenues. Both Charlene and I are on the Steering Committee for BCU and either one of us can fill anyone in who wants the info.

As for WB/LPNC meetings...both Charlene and I have been absolutely swamped with work and meetings for Monticello Avenue (we're both on the Board of Directors). Charlene was going to try to host a December get together but I don't know what came of it (it wasn't going to be an official meeting as much as a Holiday get together). We're aiming to get a real meeting on the January schedule and are going to try to get Mayor Healy to come speak to us (hopefully before the next election cycle starts) in early 2005.

As an FYI, Monticello Avenue was just designated a Main Street. This is a major benefit to us in West Bergen/Lincoln Park. Thru the Main Street designation, Monticello Avenue will be receiving a major facelift and opportunities for some much desired retail to come to our neighbourhood (no 99 cent stores please). Also, we're looking to attract some real eat in restaurants and other things that you will want to go to. We're also working on tackling the crime element so people feel safe going there and hopefully walking there from their homes as it's so close to us.

Check out the Main Street website and also feel free to ask any questions about what's going on with WB/LPNC, Main Street Monticello, BCU or anything and if we have the answers, we'll be happy to share the info with you.

: Unfortunately, I had to miss the Dec. 01 meeting with the BCU. When is the next WBLP coalition meeting? Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.....
