Hi Dan...yes, we decided to tackle this issue at the May meeting. I think that it will re-invigourate the membership if they see something concrete being done (like cleaning up Bergen Avenue).

Having said that, I am encouraging everyone to take an active role in starting this instead of just leaving it up to Charlene and myself. It's not that difficult to organise...everyone that was at the May meeting was (or at least seemed) interested in working on cleaning up Bergen. Right now, my hands are very full and Charlene's are even more full.

I had invited Roger Hejazi from the McGinley Square Merchants Association to come to our June meeting but he couldn't make it. Someone from McG Square was supposed to have gotten in touch with me about attending however no one did. I'll try again for the September meeting. We had discussed that McG Square doesn't serve our neighbourhood at all with it's very limited selection of goods and services and their merchandising is poor at best and therefore makes many of us not even want to enter the stores. Personally, I only shop at Lee Sims 1 time a year and no where else in McG Square.

: Hello Dave,

: At our May meeting we discussed possibly having the Coalition select a single problem in our area, and focus on resolving that in its entirety (or as close to it as possible).

: We all said that cleanliness of the neighborhood, particularly Bergen Ave, was the biggest quality of life issue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood (littered streets lowers morale, contributes to crime and more litter, and prevents better caliber businesses and entrepreneurs from wanting to invest in our area).

: Has it been decided if tackling this issue will be the focus for the group after all?

: Please let us know when you can.

: Have a great summer too!
