Diana, Lincoln Park is a great option for you and your family. Although I don't have kids, a friend of mine in the neighborhood has a 6 month old, and she gets together with a bunch of the other mothers on a weekly basis (sort of a new moms summit) in Lincoln Park. The neighbors here in general are pretty great and very sociable. You have some quality of life issues that you have in other parts of the city, but it's a relatively safe area. As far as living space, you'll find some of the most spacious homes and apartments in this neighborhood as well, at much better prices than Downtown(although people are starting to catch on). Regarding walking to the PATH, Montgomery Street(under 10 minute walk from the PATH) is the border between Lincoln Park and Journal Square neighborhood, so the closer to Montgomery you live, the shorter the walk. Until recently I worked in NYC and walked to the train everyday, but it all depends on your preference. We also have a website which promotes our historic walking tour and neighborhood tree plantings, www.lincolnparktour.com Good luck! : My family and I are thinking of moving to Lincoln Park and wanted to get more of an idea of what the neighborhood is like. Is there a significant number of families with small children. I have a two year old and was wondering about daycare facilities in the area. Are there any good ones? I was also wondering about how close Lincoln Park is to the PATH train? My husband and I both work in Manhattan and were wondering about the commute. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. : Thanks, : Diana
