The regular monthly meeting of the Monticello
Avenue Main Street Promotions Committee will meet on
Monday April 3, from 6:30pm to 8pm, at 99 Monticello
Avenue, Jersey City. Current projects include the
Monticello Avenue Area Business Directory (expanded
version), The MIX Newsletter, streetscape project
ground breaking ceremony planning, Spring retail
restaurant Event, Summer BBQ fundraiser Event, and
Fall Masquerade Event.

Volunteers are needed with skills in: Community
Outreach, Writer, Editor, Sales, Quark, Illustrator,
Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft
Access, Language Translation (Spanish, Chinese, other
languages), Committee Fundraising, Event Set-Up, Event
Break-Down, Sales, Marketing, Public Speaking,
Training, Teaching, Planning, Cooking, Food service,
business research, basic research, mailings (stuffing,
labeling, stamping), Fliers, ticket sales, balloons,
games, child care, puppetry, story telling, face
painting, auctions, flea marketing, etc.

Main Street Promotions Committee is responsible for
understanding the changing market of our "main street"
– both potential shoppers and Monticello Avenue’s
competition; identifying downtown assets, including
people, buildings, heritage and institutions; defining
Monticello’s market niche – it’s unique position in
the marketplace; creating new image campaigns, retail
promotions, and special events to lure people back to
Monticello Avenue for shopping and dining.
