Please mark your calendars for the upcoming WBLPNC dates, April 20th, May 18th and June 15th at 7pm– all the third Thursday of the month - and invite your neighbors as we begin again an active schedule of meetings. The location is now the Hank Gallo Community Center within our beautiful Lincoln Park and a good excuse to leave the car home and take a walk through our largest green space

Work in the neighborhood has been ongoing. 30+ street trees have been planted along Harrison and Bentley Avenues last October, the Lincoln Park Historic Trust is organizing their 6th Annual Historic Walking Tour and the organization is working towards an IRS 501(c)3 designation to gain the ability to apply for grants to fund more trees, neighborhood improvements and other opportunities.

Our agenda this Thursday will be brief. We have invited Captain Costigan from the West Precinct to speak on the rash of armed robberies that have occurred in our local stores (arrests have been made) and the vandalism of cars occurring nightly on some of our blocks. Jennifer Morrill of the Jersey City Neighborhood Improvement Division will offer information as to city ordinances concerning quality of life issues and how help in rectifying some of the most annoying situations is only a phone call away. And lastly, as required by the Jersey City Planning Board, there will be a brief presentation by the developers of the old municipal court house as to their ongoing development.

And to celebrate our upcoming 6th Annual Historic Walking Tour on May 21st – there will be a four season slide show of the fabulous buildings that line our blocks. Hope you can make it and pass this along to others on your local email list.
