Councilperson Richardson (Ward F) is for the methadone clinic and she is aware of what the group is working on for a revitalization (she attended one meeting and poopooed the idea of an A&E district). One of the goals of the Monticello redevelopment plan is a magnet school for the performing arts and surrouning businesses that cater to this school (music stores where you can take lessons and buy sheet music, dance stores to buy leotards, etc) plus "neighborhood necessity" stores like vegatable stands, dry cleaning etc. We can make this vision a reality however a methodone clinic in the midst of all this is counterproductive to this goal (not to mention, being between 4 present schools (PS 17, El Badr, Lincoln HS and PS 32) and hopefully the proposed magnet school.
