You asked what the group represents. Here is a statement from the By-laws of our neighborhood coalition:

Purpose of organization (WBLPNC)

§ To provide a forum to bring together and work with the residents, businesses, and religious and secular organizations within the neighborhood coalition’s borders.
§ The coalition strives to further the mutual interests of our neighborhoods, to make them increasingly safe, livable and enjoyable.
§ To create a voice and presence on behalf of the members of the coalition with the city offices and representatives (mayoral, district, and emergency services).

The coalition's "borders" are Communipaw to Montgomery, and Bergen to West Side.

: Great meeting! I did not expect perfection on the first "Town Meeting with the Mayor". Room for improvement? OK! Have the time broken down to include random questions submitted by non coolition members.

: Also, there was no time given to explain what the group (your group)represents.

: Danny

:
: There is a lot of talk about the development of a magnet School in Jersey City. Currently the closest thing to a "Gifted and talented school" is the TS Elliot Prigram that is being run out of School 15.

: In regards to the development of Monticello Avenue, I think that small developers are finally beginning to have an impact on housing. However. Our schools are overcrowded, and our recreational facilities for our 12-17 youths (especially girls)is virtually non-existent!
: Cunningham talked about the armory as if it was his baby!
: Programs were being run out of that facility for three years before he took office. We as a municipality are still not in compliance with title 9! And the programs are not adequate!
: In regards to his director of recreation. The director did not even want to issue daily parking permits so that people from our area could swim in Pershing field! Why?

: Monticello Avenue would (and Could ) be a great location for resturaunts and (MUSIC/JAZZ Clubs )(Not Burger King) but Cafes and expresso shops. Hey , at least until parking becomes a problem!
: IF the moderator at your next meeting has better time management, I can see this group having decent impact on the community.
