: Hi there, : I've just moved into an apartment on Palisade Avenue right by the Christ Hospital in the Heights. So far, it's been a good experience but I have a few questions: : How do the buses work? I've taken the "independent" Bergenline buses a couple of times but they don't drop me off right at Journal Square PATH (and I don't know where to get them to come home) and I don't know what time they stop running (I work late many nights and would not be coming home until 2-3am -- I'd hate to have to take a cab home every night). Is there a better way to get into Manhattan from here? (I've read about an elevator being installed at a light rail station but I don't know if this is near me or when exactly this is supposed to take place.) : Also, is there a grocery store nearby within walking distance? The only grocery store that I know of is by Newport Mall. : Finally, what is the area like in terms of safety (at night)? Around my apartment is generally okay at night but it seems a little sketchy if you walk too far from it (maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't mind hearing other people's opinions). The closet supermarket would be north of you on Palisade Avenue just up from Booraem. For more information on the Jersey City Heights (including the Light Rail elevator on Congress Street), please see the Link.
